This is updated with Part 1 and 2 of 3 Letters From John Blackwell

This is the first of three letters from John Blackwell to my friend Matt Green. As in the other letters he was researching the breed and breeders before he ultimately went with Dragon Lair's Bane a Martin breed dog. John Blackwell at this time was outside of JDJ one of they most popular of the Bully breeders. He produced several well known Bulldogs over the years. I find his letters articulate and thought provoking. I hope you all enjoy.

Blackwell bred DDB with AB's, common knowledge. I know a fellow that has called me & swore he had a litter of DDB's out of a breeding between two American Bulldogs. Use to see em all the time, they stuck out like a sore thumb...don't go to many shows anymore....think it took at least 15-20 yrs to breed that Shizzy down to obviously un-noticeable. Wonder how long it's gonna take to breed this latest breed (Greyhound) out...another 15-20yr??? SUKS!

I should've said....at LEAST he used a BULLY breed!!!! To my knowledge, Vito is the ONLY a-hold that went to a complete different type/breed of dog. Greyhound, I can't even comprehend the thinking behind that.

Cherly been talking to John lately he's breeding South Africa Boerboel. And doing quite well he has some of the top dogs in the United States. All of his breeding stock are ranked. Hope you are doing well miss our conversation. Your number isn't the same miss my North Star Friend Cary (RIP). The other best female in the breed.

Bully breeds are full of genetic issues.  It would be simple to insert a bully breed, and continue the genetic mess known as the AB.  Inserting a bully type would keep type, terrible joints, breathing, and poor conformation.  Inserting most anything that was not a bully breed would take thinking outside of the box, and address all of these areas making a better dog.  It would take longer to work back into a bully type, but it would have an impact on the poor genetics no doubt.  If you were to ask me what I would rather have in my dogs, well it would be GH over olde, DDB, Mastiff, St. B etc.  I personally think we should use what is within our gene pool, what is tested and proven, and that Registries should require DNA of all dogs bred.  It is a simple process to ensure correct peds, and protect the customers.

IMO the minute we believe we know best we stop learning n growing
Those who accept they are always learning n growing keep an open mind and are willing to experiment and grow

No offense to anyone as I'm on the outside looking in and not an expert but from what I've seen, I agree with these statements..

Merry Christmas to ALL!!!

Here is Part 2, The 2nd Letter.

Everything I am adding of late from the JDJ letter, Sure Grip letter, now the John Blackwell letters along with other letters I will add like the Screaming Eagle letters is all for a historical reference from some who have influenced this breed. I understand you may or may not enjoy the specific line of dogs which is true for me as well. So in closing; I am just the messenger in this and this is not my stamp of approval to any of these lines. Again, I hope you enjoy the 2nd installment of the John Blackwell letters.

If you?re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you?ll know which is right for you.

Been using this stuff for about a week and already noticed much greater lifts. Using with GEN HumanoVar and noticed not only increase in mass (1-2kg in a week) but a decrease in body fat especially the abdominal region. Would recommended although it di id upset the stomach for firt 3-5 days but fine after that.
