The University of Pennsylvania has contacted me and asked that everyone please stop sending the manual form previously used when submitting samples. Please read below for the new process or go to my webpage to read more.

PLEASE BE AWARE-THE TESING FOR THE ICTHYOSIS LINKED MARKER IN THE AMERICAN BULLDOG IS NO LONGER OFFERED THROUGH THIS TESTING LABORATORY>PLEASE REVIEW THE NEW TESTING LABORATORY INFORMATION IN ORDER TO AVOID DELAY IN TEST RESULTS AND PROCESSING OF YOUR SAMPLES

These test are now offered by the *PennGen Laboratories* and are all priced at $75 each. PennGen does not accept any of our manually filled submission forms, so please make sure that you go to the PennGen website http://research.vet.upenn.edu/PennGen acreate an account for yourself, login into your account, fill in the animal details, select the appropriate test to obtain a Submission ID for each animal and then print it out and mail it along with the sample.  You may visit the PennGen website for more information on submission and payment procedures.  Please be patient with us during this time of transition!

Re: PLEASE PUT AS STICKY!!! NEW PROCESS FOR ICTHYOSIS TESTING

I remember a few years ago when you were pushing this topic heavy "back when testing was free" most didnt think it was important at the time, some even said they wouldn't test for it and laughed at you. But I guess that isn't the case now. I always say....It's never about the dogs, it's always about the person.......funny how things play out....

Thanks for the info K.A.

They can laugh all they want LOL A few of us that got involved with the testing when they were offering it for free to isolate the genetic marker get free testing for life. They can mock all they like.. I get free testing LOL Funny huh. Dr. Casal mentioned only 2 other kennels were given that benefit in exchange for their trouble, thats sad, but hey, following the popular opinion is not always the way to go.
